Billy Harbert, Chairman & CEO
Billy Harbert has been Chairman and CEO of BL Harbert International since its inception in 2000, following a legacy construction business that began with his father and uncle in the 1940s. He provides ultimate leadership and direction of all BL Harbert projects worldwide and guides executive management and our C-suite.
Before taking over the family business, Billy worked as Project Manager and Project Engineer on pipeline and commercial projects. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Building Science, and from Emory University with a MBA.

Alan Hall
Executive Vice President, CFO & Secretary
Alan Hall has been Executive Vice President, CFO and Secretary of BL Harbert International since its inception in 2000, with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He is responsible for directing the overall financial responsibilities of the company.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Global Managerial Accountant (CGMA) and Certified Internal Auditor.
He graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration.

Jim Stewart
Chief Operating Officer, Business Operations
Jim Stewart serves as Chief Operating Officer, Business Operations. In this role, he assists with providing overall strategic direction for the company, and he supports the operations of the company’s two operating groups.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Vanderbilt University and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Virginia School Of Law.

Charles A. Bohn
President, International Group
Chuck has been President of BL Harbert’s International Group since 2011. With over 30 years of construction experience, he provides leadership, oversight, and management for all of BL Harbert’s international projects. Before serving as President, Chuck has worked in numerous roles with BLHI including General Superintendent, Project Manager, and Senior Vice President of International Operations.

Matthew DeValk
Senior Vice President, International Group
With more than 20 years of international construction experience, Matt has served in numerous roles with BL Harbert’s International Group, including Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, Operations Director, and Vice President of Operations. He is now responsible for the oversight and management of all phases of construction for International Group projects.
He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction.

Mike Veal
Senior Vice President, International Group
Throughout his 29-year career in construction, Mike has served in a variety of roles with BL Harbert, from Estimator to Project Manager. As Senior Vice President, he provides day-to-day leadership, oversight, and management of the International Group, and is responsible for all preconstruction efforts.
He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction.

Johnny Garlington
President, U.S. Group
As President of U.S. Operations, Johnny manages five regional offices with over 600 employees and over 60 active projects at any given time. He began his construction career as a laborer on a waste treatment project and has been with BL Harbert over eighteen years.
He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Johnny serves on the board for Restoration Academy.

Ben Nevins
Senior Vice President
Ben has over forty years in the construction industry. As Senior Vice President, Ben oversees both the U.S. Commercial and Healthcare Divisions.
Ben graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Building Construction. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Foundry Ministries, Cornerstone School and AGC of Alabama.

Matt Thompson
Vice President of U.S. Estimating & Preconstruction
Matt has provided estimating and preconstruction services for over $1.2 billion in construction volume during his career. Matt began his career as an intern for BL Harbert and now oversees estimating for five offices.
Matt graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Building Construction. He is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Alabama and is a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham.

Jim McGregor
Vice President of U.S. Operations
Jim is responsible for overseeing all U.S. Group divisional projects and locations. Jim began his career with the company as a Co-op employee in 1994 and was hired in 1997, after obtaining his Building Science degree from Auburn University. With over twenty years of experience, Jim’s portfolio includes hospitality, commercial, federal and manufacturing projects.
