This
project included a main wastewater site and a lift station
site—all built for the Government of the U.S. Virgin
Islands, under the close scrutiny of the Environmental
Protection Agency and the US Corps of Engineers.
The plant—which will service the central portion island—is
designed to handle approximately 0.75MGD of wastewater, using
three 0.43M gallon Sequence Batch reactors. The lift station
and treatment plant replace a tired, worn-out plant constructed
in the 50's.
Construction included reinforced concrete tankage and foundations
(2,200 cubic yards); two utility buildings and a three story
control building; 4,000 square yards of asphaltic concrete
paving with concrete curbs; associated above-grade and below-grade
yard piping and electrical equipment & wiring; and PLC
based instrumentation & control systems.
