Mercedes-Benz U.S. International selected the
team now employed by B.L. Harbert International to provide
construction services for its new, 128,000 square foot Training
and Visitor Center in Vance, Alabama.
The Training Center provides classroom space and shop areas
where Mercedes-Benz employees participate in technical and
hands-on training in automotive production.
The 24,000 square foot Mercedes-Benz Visitor Center provides
the general public with an opportunity to learn about the history
of the world's oldest automaker, showcasing the company's passenger
vehicles from the late 1800s to the present. Adjacent to the
company's first North American passenger vehicle plant, the
Center includes exhibits detailing the history of Daimler-Benz,
including its products, technology and commitment to safety.
Bill Harbert International Construction, Inc. (BHIC) was the
contractor of record for the project. In January 2000 all employees
of BHIC became employees of B.L. Harbert International (BLHI).
The management and supervisory teams now employed by BLHI constructed
the project.
