The
Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT) training complex
replicates all of
the components
of an urban environment. The training complex provides a “live” environment
for training exercises.
The MOUT complex is designed as a complete city with one, two
and three-
story buildings. The Fort Campbell MOUT consists
of 24 intact buildings, four rubble buildings, male and female
latrines, storm drainage system, administration building, security
fencing and extensive site work covering more than 200 acres.
The buildings replicate a church, offices, city hall, police
station and apartments.
The training buildings are primarily load-bearing reinforced
CMU walls with hollow core concrete slabs used to support elevated
slabs. The buildings were designed to require minimum maintenance
and withstand significant abuse.
