The Addition/Alterations and Life Safety Upgrades to the U. S. Navy Hospital in Pensacola, Florida included the new construction of an outpatient clinic and alterations to the existing full operational hospital.

The 72,000 square foot, two-story outpatient clinic addition included the pharmacy, patient records, family practice, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, ENT, dermatology, ophthalmology, audiology, respiratory therapy and immunizations areas.

The hospital remained operational 24-hours a day, seven days a week without any interruptions during construction. There was approximately 100,000 square feet of renovations.

The project also included sitework and the construction of a parking lot to add 372 parking spaces.

The exterior of the new addition is pre-cast in contrasting colors and glass to match the existing hospital.

Bill Harbert International Construction, Inc. (BHIC) was the contractor of record for the project. In January 2000 all employees of BHIC became employees of B.L. Harbert International (BLHI). The management and supervisory teams now employed by BLHI constructed the project.
