The Townes of English Village is
a 30-unit, luxury condominium complex located in the heart
of historic English Village in Mountain Brook. The English
Tudor, seven-story mid-rise building has two floors of parking
and five floors of living space.
The construction of the building involved a reinforced concrete
structure with a brick exterior, hardwood floors and gas fireplaces.
Each of the 30 units were custom-designed and constructed to
owner specifications.
The project challenges included a limited site (the crane was
within five feet of the surrounding buildings) and an extremely
tight schedule, along with the individual needs of 30 different
owners. Given these challenges, the building was turned over
to the client 30 days ahead of schedule.
The interior features in each unit include hardwood flooring,
Italian marble and stone, crown molding and intricate millwork
packages, 10-foot ceilings and fireplaces.
Bill Harbert International Construction, Inc. (BHIC) was the
contractor of record for the project. In January 2000 all employees
of BHIC became employees of B.L. Harbert International (BLHI).
The management and supervisory teams now employed by BLHI constructed
the project.
