The
United States Embassy compound in Tunis consists of eleven
buildings with a total of 124,396
square feet of floor area. To achieve the very aggressive schedule,
the management team decided at a very early stage to divide
the project into two separate stand-alone sites. The west side
of the project houses the Chancery Office Building, while the
east side of the site contains the remaining support buildings.
Construction included a New Office Building, ancillary structures
and perimeter fencing. Ancillary structures comprise a multi-story
chancery office building, four guard houses, a Marine Security
Guard Residence, a GSO building, warehouse, workshop, motor
pool, commissary and central utility facility. On-site/offsite
paved roadways, site landscaping, utilities connections and
site fill were also part of the project.
