BL Harbert International Breaks Ground on Consulate General in Matamoros

Representatives from BL Harbert International, U.S. Charge d’Affaires to Mexico William Duncan, U.S. Consul General in Matamoros Angela Kerwin, and local officials joined today for a groundbreaking ceremony on the new U.S. Consulate General in Matamoros, Mexico.

“We are proud to have broken ground in Matamoros today, and we consider our company privileged to be a part of a project that demonstrates the strong relationship between the U.S. and Mexico.  We also look forward to successfully completing another important project for the U.S. Department of State” stated Mike Veal, Senior Vice President of B.L. Harbert’s International Group.

Situated on 7.6 acres, the multi-building campus includes a Chancery office building, a U.S. Marine Security Guard residence, a support annex, and facilities for the Consulate community.

D.C.-based architect, PAGE, serves as the architect of record and richard+bauer architecture of Phoenix is the design architect.

In addition to the Consulate General in Matamoros, B.L. Harbert International is constructing the new U.S. Consulate in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, which is slated to be complete by the end of 2017.
